The Labor Law Review (no. 1674, page 234) in its recent issue published no. 1661/2009 order of the Court of First Instance in Athens. In this case our Firm’s partners Anastasios Triantafyllos and Theodore Pistiolis successfully represented numerous employees against Hellenic Shipyards S.A.
Hellenic Shipyards S.A claimed that their rail stock arm was transferred to another legal entity, thus its employees in the rail stock activities were by definition transferred to the successor employer due to the business unit transfer.
We successfully argued that such practice was indeed against both national and European legislation, therefore the employment relation between our clients and the Hellenic Shipyards S.A was not interrupted.
